Decoration
Can’t find exactly what you’re after? You’re more than welcome to bring your own garments, and we’ll help you choose the best decoration method based on the quantity, fabric, colour, and style of your artwork.
We love the idea of reusing and upcycling, just make sure your garments are freshly washed before dropping them off—our hot curing process can bring out hidden odours, so we really appreciate the extra rinse!
A quick heads-up: as with any form of decoration, things don’t always go to plan. We recommend supplying a few spare garments where possible, just in case. If there’s a misprint, we won’t be able to replace your BYO item—but you’ll have the option to choose something similar from our stock instead.
What You Need to Know
Before we begin your BYO order, you'll need to read through this info and complete a quick sign-off form. We can’t start production until we’ve received it—thanks for understanding!
Decoration Method
We’ll choose the best print method for your job based on your garment type, fabric, and artwork. If something’s not quite right for the process, we’ll let you know and recommend the most suitable alternative.
Garment Suitability
We may decline certain styles or fabrics if we think they won’t deliver great results. Unlike our in-house stock (which has been print and wash tested), BYO garments may come with a few unknowns - including print longevity. That said, if you follow our care instructions, you should be good to go—but we always like to be upfront.
A Note on Risk
Printing on BYO garments is done at your own risk. If anything goes wrong (like a misprint, scorch, or stain), we’re unable to replace your exact garment. In that case, we’ll either refund the print cost or offer a similar item from our range as a replacement.
Already Decorated Garments
If your BYO gear already has screen prints, embroidery, or other decorations, please be aware we can’t take responsibility for those areas. We recommend completing all DTG/DTF prints before adding any extra embellishments.
Send a Few Extras (just in case!)
We’re a careful bunch, but mistakes can happen. If you’re able to include a couple of spare garments with your delivery, it gives us a bit of breathing room if anything doesn’t go to plan.
Packing Your Garments
To keep everything on track (and avoid extra fees):
- Include a clear breakdown of garment sizes and quantities
- Pack your garments clean, ironed, and neatly folded
- Sort them by size and make sure they're free of tags or stickers
- Clearly label your delivery with your name, contact number, and order number
Have Print Preferences?
Got a specific print size, placement, or drop from the collar? Awesome—just include clear instructions or a visual mock-up so we can get it just right.
Avoid Extra Fees
If we need to unpack, sort, de-tag, wash, or iron your garments before printing, additional charges may apply. We’ll always let you know in advance.
Bringing Your Own FAQs
How do I place a BYO order?
If it's between 1-50 items, just head over to our BYO order page , select the product and colour that best matches what you’re bringing in, upload your design, and check out as usual. Make a note of your order number — you’ll need it!
When you drop off or send in your BYO garments, be sure to clearly label them with your order number. It also helps to include that number in any emails or communication with us so we can match everything up easily.
If you're after screen printing or embroidery for a bulk order, just contact us and we'll put a quote together for you.
What's the minimum order for BYO?
There’s no minimum for DTG or DTF! Whether you’ve got one item or a thousand, we’re happy to help. We’ll also recommend the best decoration method to suit your order.
The minmum for screen printing is 50. The minimum for embroidery is 10.What's the turnaround time for BYO?
We like to take a little extra care with BYO garments, so express turnaround isn’t offered. For DTG and DTF printing the standard production time is 7 business days plus shipping.
Screen printing and embroidery take a little longer — usually around 10–14 business days plus shipping, depending on the size of the order and our queues.
What are the artwork requirements?
For DTG and DTF printing, we recommend high-resolution PNG files at 300dpi and full size for best results. If you’ve got a different file type, that might be ok, we can check it out for you. For screen printing , we need vector artwork in .ai or .eps format, with all fonts outlined and Pantone colours included.
