What type of files can I use?

We suggest a tif or png file with transparent background but you can upload a pdf, eps, jpg or gif. If you're unsure you can email your file to us and we can check it out for you.

What size should my image be?

For best results you should use the highest resolution possible, 300dpi is best. If you're scanning a photograph, its best to set your scanner to the highest resolution possible. If you are creating your artwork from scratch an A3 canvas is perfect. Our maximum DTG print area size is 400 x 500mm.

The image I want to use has a white background, will it print on my t-shirt?

If your image has a white background dont worry, it wont print on a white t-shirt. However, if you're wanting it on a colour t-shirt it will. We offer FREE background removal which you can request when you're placing your order or you can send it to us via email and we'll remove it and send it back to you.

Can you remove the background from my image?

We sure can.... and we'll do it for FREE! Just email it to us or request it in the note section when you check out.

Can I use images from Google?

If you are downloading images from Google make sure you source the biggest file you can. Small 72dpi images are NOT suitable as the resolution is too small and they will pixelate when enlarged. In Google remember to click on Seach Tools - Size - Large.

Tip: When you upload your image in to the online designer the ‘quality meter’ will change from green to amber to red as you scale up to advise you of image quality loss. If you hit red it means the image may be blurry - you will need to find a new image with a higher resolution or scale it down again.

My image doesn't look centered properly. Will it be printed like that?

Don't worry, we'll centre or straighten the image on your garment. We'll make it look as good we possibly can. We want you to be happy with your custom product! If we think something wont work or will look strange we'll let you know.

What is the maximum file size I can use?

Try to keep the file size under 15mb. Larger is possible but it will take a long time to load.

Do you offer graphic design services?

We do! We have awesome graphic designers so just email your brief to artwork@printlocker.com.au or give us a call on 03 9858 3292 to discuss.

Can I use copyrighted images?

For all copyright questions you should head over to Australian Copyright Council.

And don’t worry, if the quality of your artwork is too low we’ll contact you, we don’t just print it because you uploaded it. We want you to be happy with your custom order!
